Creamy Chicken & Asparagus

Serves 4

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

10-3/4 oz. can cream of chicken soup

2 c. milk

pepper to taste

dried, minced onion to taste

2 to 4 slices pasteurized process cheese spread, diced

1 lb. fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces

3 to 4 c. cooked rice

Arrange chicken in a 4-quart slow cooker. Combine soup, milk, pepper, onion and cheese in a bowl; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low setting for 7 hours. Add frozen asparagus; increase heat to high setting. Cover and cook for one hour, or until asparagus is crisp-tender. Serve over cooked rice.
